Thanks for your article about accepting chronic illness. I’ve had chronic autoimmune problems since my early 20’s. Because I did so well for over 10 years. I never really had to learn acceptance. Denial was working just fine, why change? 3 years ago, I went out of a remission state and into a high flare state. Since then I’ve had many surgeries, many drugs, lots of attempts at getting back to normal. Since last August, I’ve been making plans in my head of what I feel would be a healthy lifestyle for me. I left my high paying full time job (I was off on disability half the time anyway) and got a lower stress, lower paying, part time job. I am now living the lower stress, slower paced lifestyle I had planned. But it’s only been the past few weeks that it’s sinking into my head that wow, I’m not going to get better. I’m doing the best I can to learn acceptance. Your article helps. Thanks very much for writing it and putting it online.

Is there any chance you have lyme that is showing negative on tests? I have three very close family members that have lyme. One had a negative test for five years… until she could not walk anymore…

I have gastroparesis… it is so hard living with a chronic illness… so I know what you are going through… hang in there – so glad to have “met” you through the scavenger hunt!

Thanks D — I’m glad you found my article on acceptance helpful…I wish you all the best.

Hi Katherine — Many moons ago I was tested for Lyme, it was inconclusive so they did a more sensitive test and that came back negative. Thanks for participating in the scavenger hunt.

Nice post. I learn one thing on completely different blogs everyday. It is going to all the time be stimulating to read content from different writers and apply slightly something from their blog.

Hello Catherine,

I found you through empowered women and liked your blogs. I am looking for bloggers to write for BBAC and thought that perhaps we might be a good fit as we are a health blog (even though it is eclectic, and the majority of our readers are now women (world wide).

We have over a million readers, are ranking high with Google (lots of page one ratings) and we feel it would give you good coverage on the net, for you and your blogs.

Please drop over and have some green tea and a few laughs with us. We hope to see and hear from you soon.

Southern smile and world peace,]

Hi Catherine,

You sound like an inspirational person. I have chronic auto-immune problems and have had to really learn some lessons about food and health. I have started a new website – http://www.organicjetsetter.com – to help people find natural, organic food in major cities in the US and around the world as it can be hard to find the ‘right’ food in an unfamiliar city. I hope it might be of interest to your readers as I know many moms turn to organic for their children.

Keep up the good work
Angela

I work for a political organization that is interested in getting in touch with you to discuss how we can plan an event to incorporate women bloggers. What is the best way to contact you?
Thanks!

Dear Catherine,

My name is Robert Graves and I am the Marketing Team Lead of a company called PWB Health. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our most popular item The Breastlight. Breastlight is designed to be used by women in the comfort of their homes as part of their regular breast awareness activity. This handheld device allows them to see inside their breasts. Breastlight shines a powerful red light through the breast tissue so that they can see some of the details inside. The light, which is completely harmless, highlights blood vessels in the breast. Any dark spots or shadows might suggest an abnormality that should be checked out with a doctor. This way they can get to know what’s normal for them, spot any changes and hopefully feel more confident that they are looking after their body the way they would like to. It helps women monitor any changes in their breasts over time. It is completely safe and easy to use.
At PWB Health we have received numerous accolades for this product, including a Gold award in the Medical/Test Equipment category in appliance DESIGN Magazine’s 22nd Annual Excellence in Design Awards Competition. The company is also delighted to have already won both the NEXXUS and Scottish Enterprise ‘Most Promising Life Science Company of the Year’ awards.
At breastlight we are looking to gain affiliates to help promote this device, what we propose is that you place a banner (we will provide) advertising our product and we will give you 20% commission. If this is something you might be interested feel free to contact me so we can discuss this opportunity further.
Best Regards,
Robert
