Women Blogging About Health & Fitness

One of the best things about being a contributing editor for BlogHer, is being able to showcase other women bloggers. So today, I thought we could take a look at some blogs about nutrition, weight loss, and fitness.

In no particular order, here are eighteen health and fitness blogs that I think you might like. I hope you enjoy checking them out as much as I did.

All You Can Do Is Tri

I am a 40-something mother of 4 who has taken up a challenge from my marathon-running sister. Do a triathlon with her and she will attend a scrapbooking weekend with me. Now I am on the road to train- run, bike, and swim my way back to a not-embarrassed-in-a-bathing-suit weight, and enjoying every minute of it.

A Merry Life: A Happy Girl’s Healthy Living and Weight Loss Blog

This site is a personal weight loss blog that focuses on weight loss, nutrition, fitness, and other health related topics, usually with a positive spin (I try). I started this site, and blogging about weight in general, as added motivation to lose weight and live healthier. I blog to stay accountable to my main goal: living a healthier, happier, and more active life at whatever weight I happen to be. It is my attempt to live better through the integration of healthy habits into my lifestyle. I chose the name A Merry Life because that is what I want to live and that is what exercise and healthy eating provides me.

How To Lose Weight

I was AMAZED when someone on “Yahoo Answers” wanted to lose 85 pounds in 25 days, and an 11 year old girl wanted to “lose weight quickly” before going back to school. Which made me decide to start a weight loss blog that gives real info, even if people would rather not hear it!

The Body Beautiful by Allegra

As a woman and Fitness Professional who has a strong passion for healthy living, I am even more passionate about connecting the Mind, Body, and Spirit and creating strong linkages between the three. I have found a way to connect all three entities into a program called, “The Body Beautiful by Allegra”. Focusing on creating positive, realistic, and healthy body images, by creating strong linkages between the mind, body and spirit to help create a “whole” person, the program encourages self-love and increases self-esteem.

One Fit Chick

I’m going to blog about it to share my knowledge, learn a few new things, and hopefully some people will read it. Posts on fitness, health, nutrition, and life in general will also be thrown in here…most likely with a sarcastic flare.

Fitness Fixation

So much of the fitness and health writing out there is so dry you practically have to hydrate after you read it. I think it’s time we injected some humor into the genre.

Fit Bottomed Girls

The Fit Bottomed Girls don’t take anything too seriously—including fitness. Here, two regular girls share their trials, tribulations and adventures in staying fit to help you know what’s good and what’s whack when it comes to working out.

Cranky Fitness

Would you like upbeat inspirational advice about how easy and fun it is to eat healthy food, lose weight, and stay in shape? Then you will probably not like it here! One of the founding principles of Cranky Fitness is: Healthy Living is a Pain in the Ass.

Lost In Transition

I started a wellness plan, the goals of which were to be more active, exercise, eat healthier, and drink more water. I lost 20 pounds following this plan, but failed to make it a lifestyle change, which was the ultimate goal. Now that I have graduated college, I feel it is time to really push myself in the quest to lose weight, keep it off, and get healthy. I want to make positive changes in my life that will become habit. I want to be a healthier person. This blog will chronicle my journey.

Raise Healthy Eaters

I created Raise Healthy Eaters to give moms like you peace of mind when it comes to feeding your family. You no longer need to search google and piece together information about what your kids need to grow up healthy. Instead, come here first to get your needs met – and ask your most burning nutrition questions.
