It seems unbelievable that in an age where food supplied to us at its lowest nutritional value is allowed to be further devalued. Soon there will be little advantage to consuming real food.

This is actually our feature story right now, and for good reason. The decision merely highlights the FDA's failure to do their job properly. It is a stop-gap measure that, unfortunately, will be used as an excuse to do even less quality control because - after all - they'll just get irradiated at the end of the day. This is a disgrace and I would encourage all Americans, whether in an apartment or on a farm, to grow as much of your own food as possible.

At the very least, I feel a bit weary about the irradiation of foods. As I mentioned on my blog, our family will be picking our own, buying local, and eating organic foods. In my opinion, the verdict is still out.
